We love hot tubs

Today is a day of the New Year. Now, I have been, for a time, dwelling over what exactly I am going to refer to this new year as: 20-10, 2010, 2'10, 0'10, 10? It is all very new and only time shall tell what exactly we will be calling this year. Also, when typing, I seem to find myself unable to stop with the pattern of 1s and 0s, so my years end up looking like 201010oopsdang try again 20101 that's better... and on and on.

This year in preparation for the New Year, Mr. Nathan Peterson decided to buy a hot tub. Only problem was there was no room in his home for such a large object. So he decided to build the hot tub its own room. The final product was supposed to be a surprise (for me at least) and it was to a point.

Here is the hot tub room from the outside. It is cleverly disguised as a garage.

In other news, pictures were taken (as always) and actually put up on facebook before they appeared here because I have been a major blog slacker. (probably in favor of cuddle time and hot tubbin') but I am back!

For New Years' Eve, we attended First Night in downtown Austin. First night is basically the place where everyone goes New Years' Eve and it consists of a parade, greasy food, and all sorts of interesting booths.

Here is a picture of Mr. Nathan Peterson and I perched on a tree branch. You can't really tell we are, but just believe me.

You can see the New Years' lights whizzing by in the background.

Here is a picture taken in front of this light show. Nate (the Great) did a clever silhouette job.

There was this super nifty public art piece which was basically a bunch of huge swings that lit up and played music in sync with each other over wireless Internet. It was one of the most amazing public art pieces I have seen.

Note the winter jackets. It was super cold outside, and poor Mr. Culpepper only had a sweatshirt.

Once it was too cold and windy for us to walk around much longer downtown, we went back to the house to get in the hot tub with some champagne and sparkling cider to wait for Midnight. We took a ton of pictures (which can be seen on Facebook) but here is a sample.

The next day, we woke up to greet year 2'10 and decided to get in the hot tub once more to test electronics in there.

Hooray! Work and Leisure all rolled into one.

Later that day, while waiting for Nate's new shed to be delivered, we did what we have been doing most of the week: play the New Super Mario Brothers for Wii!

Then, after the shed was installed and filled, we went bowling! Here is record of me apparently trying to maim the people in back of me with my bowling ball.

Nate, on the other hand, had a bit more success with his techniques and managed to bowl 3 strikes in a row! A Turkey! Gobble, gobble...

The next day, January 2nd, 2'10 we went to see ChickenDog

Here we are sitting in the audience playing with puppets:

On the way out of the show, Mr. Nathan Peterson decided to get in some piggy back time.

Hooray for mobile friends!
