Goin DSLR
To say the least, I was devastated by the loss of my camera. Here I was cameraless at the start of my 6 week winter vacation. The time when I very much WANT to take A LOT of pictures. So I just sobbed a bit every day.
Then, a couple days before Christmas, I flew to Austin to meet up with Mr. Peterson for our Christmas trip to Minnesota. He had been taunting me for a few weeks already with his dutifully wrapped Christmas present for me: In a box a bit larger than a shoe box, wrapped in dark green paper and a small tag.
Well, I finally got to open the sucker and when I did, I was pleasantly surprised at its contents. Inside that box was my first and very own Nikon D3100. It is a newly released entry level Digital SLR camera. The significance of this gift is that it is an item that has been on the Eventual Wishlist in my head for many years now. This list contains other Eventual items such as my dream house, everything that goes in my dream house and... yeah, a DSLR. So, as soon as I charged the puppy, I took it for a spin. This blog chronicles my winter break so far in my favorite pictures.
Mind you that I hold nowhere near the amount of knowledge required to take full advantage of this little machine. But. It is me happily learning.
These pictures are among the first pictures ever taken with this camera.
